Away Aluminum Carry-On
An aluminum carry-on whose appeal is visible in the shell and hardware—and whose 10.5-pound empty weight comes out of your luggage allowance.

Away lists the silver Aluminum Carry-On at $625 before promotions. It has dual TSA combination locks, spinner wheels, interior compression and a laundry bag. Its stated exterior dimensions are 21.5 × 13.5 × 9 inches, including wheels and handles; check your airline’s limits before choosing it.
The evidence
The metal is the luxury—and the penalty
The rigid metal shell and latch closure are the reasons to consider this suitcase. Neither makes a heavy case easier to lift into an overhead bin. Compare the empty weight and usable capacity with a lighter case before deciding that the finish is worth the trade.
Admire — buy for design, not efficiency
Consider it if you enjoy the material and expect visible wear. If your trips involve strict cabin weight limits or frequent overhead lifting, start with a lighter case. The aluminum finish is a preference, not evidence of better travel performance.
The catch
Aluminum dents and scratches visibly, has no zipper expansion and consumes substantial empty weight. Those marks can become character—or simply feel like damage—depending on the buyer.
