Baccarat Zénith Black 24L
A $155,000 chandelier in smoky black crystal by Philippe Starck—roughly the price of a very good car, suspended from the ceiling.

Starck's version takes Baccarat's 19th-century Zénith architecture and turns the expected transparency inside out. Black crystal, black shades and metallic reflectors make the chandelier read less like decoration and more like a suspended sculpture.
The evidence sheet
This is not efficient illumination
The premium is entirely about craft, scale, lineage and visual command. A room does not need a $155,000 chandelier; this one is designed to make that sentence irrelevant once it is installed.
Admire
The anti-chandelier idea works. The price is grotesque; the object is memorable enough to survive knowing the price.
The catch
The black shades are separate, and installation, ceiling structure and room scale matter enormously. A chandelier this dominant can overwhelm an ordinary interior.
Price and specifications are manufacturer-stated and may change. Row & Ledger has not inspected this chandelier in person.
