FELCO 2
An $87 hand tool whose strongest premium feature is not cutting performance on day one. It is the expectation that the tool remains serviceable decades later.

The FELCO 2 has been in use since 1945: forged aluminum handles, hardened steel blade, micro-metric adjustment and a replacement-parts catalog that includes blades, springs, catches and hardware. That turns a mundane garden tool into a small ownership-system argument.
The evidence sheet
Why pay more for pruning shears?
Because the handles, cutting head and adjustment system are designed around maintenance rather than disposal. The premium is strongest for frequent users who will sharpen, adjust and replace parts instead of replacing the tool.
The boring tool is the good tool
This is exactly the kind of premium Row & Ledger likes: visible construction, documented replacement parts and very little lifestyle theater.
The catch
The FELCO 2 is sized for larger right hands. Buyers with smaller hands or different ergonomic needs should choose the appropriate FELCO variant rather than treating the icon as universally correct.
