Filson's Original Briefcase is built from its lightly waxed cotton Rugged Twill, Bridle Leather handles and removable shoulder strap, rustproof brass YKK zipper and sand-cast solid brass hardware. The 13-liter interior carries up to a 15-inch laptop with simple dividers rather than a nest of technical pockets.
That simplicity is part of the proposition. The bag is less about optimizing every cable and more about making a few durable materials do the job for a very long time.

A nylon laptop bag can protect a computer for far less. Filson spends the difference on abrasion-resistant fabric, leather that can age visibly, heavy hardware and a construction language intended for repair and long ownership rather than replacement cycles.

The Catch
