Hästens Grand Vividus
A king-size bed starting at $868,990. At some point a mattress stops being furniture and becomes a privately commissioned monument to sleep.

Designed with Ferris Rafauli and hand-built in Sweden, Grand Vividus takes Hästens' natural-material mattress architecture and wraps it in a far more theatrical object: saddle leather, polished hardware, tailored upholstery and a trunk-like base that looks almost engineered to make an ordinary bed feel financially irresponsible.
The evidence sheet
The value equation has left the room
No sleep metric can plausibly underwrite an $800,000-plus delta over an excellent bed. What remains is craftsmanship, rarity, commissioning and the pleasure of owning an object that treats sleep as architecture.
Admire
This is useful precisely because it resets the scale. Suddenly a $5,000 mattress looks like disciplined consumer behavior.
The catch
The price can exceed the cost of a house in much of America, and Hästens' own language cannot make the marginal sleep benefit remotely proportional to the spend.
