La Cornue Château 150
A nearly 60-inch French range with two vaulted ovens, nine rangetop configurations and current high-spec retail builds approaching $250,000.

The Château 150 is not positioned like an appliance. It is specified more like cabinetry: enamel or metal body finish, multiple trim metals, custom color, rangetop architecture and two vaulted ovens. At the extreme end, the kitchen is designed around the range rather than the other way around.
The evidence sheet
At this point the range is architecture
The functional premium over an excellent professional range cannot remotely explain the price. The rest buys hand-built construction, bespoke finish, visual permanence and the ability to make the cooking appliance the centerpiece of the room.
Admire
A kitchen object expensive enough to become ridiculous—and beautiful enough to explain why some people keep going anyway.
The catch
La Cornue pricing varies dramatically with configuration. The quarter-million figure reflects a current high-spec retailer build, not the starting price of every Château 150.
Dimensions and architecture are manufacturer-stated. Current high-spec pricing referenced from an active U.S. retailer configuration and may change. Row & Ledger has not cooked on this range.
