La Marzocco Linea Mini
A $6,600 home espresso machine whose premium is easiest to defend when espresso is a daily craft rather than an occasional appliance setting.

The Linea Mini is a compact dual-boiler machine handmade in Florence with PID temperature control, an integrated grouphead and a 3-liter steam boiler. It is not the economical path to excellent espresso. It is the path to a durable, repeatable workflow for someone who will use the hardware constantly.
The evidence sheet
What does another several thousand dollars buy?
Temperature stability, steam capacity, workflow, repairable commercial-style construction and the ability to make drink after drink without the machine becoming the limiting factor. It does not buy better beans, a grinder or barista skill.
Only rational at high usage
If the household makes multiple espresso drinks every day and cares about the process, the machine has a coherent long-horizon case. Otherwise the premium is mostly unused capability.
The catch
It occupies 14.2 by 21.3 inches of counter depth, weighs 66 pounds and still requires a serious grinder. The machine can remove hardware constraints; it cannot remove the learning curve.
