Plaud One
Our take: Plaud One is more interesting than another pocket recorder because the earbuds and 4G eSIM case can capture conversations without keeping a phone beside you. The hardware thesis is clear; the service is still early.

What to know
The point is independence, not transcription
Recording and summarizing conversations is no longer unusual. Plaud One earns attention because the case can record in-person conversations and use 4G LTE independently of a nearby phone, while the earbuds handle calls and online meetings. Plaud’s larger thesis is that the captured context can move into agents that draft follow-ups, documents and other work where integrations are available.
That makes the device potentially more useful than a memory aid, but it also shifts the purchase decision toward software maturity. Plaud explicitly calls this a Limited Explorer Edition, some features depend on future firmware, and regional or integration availability can change.
Watch
Ideal for: an early adopter or meeting-heavy professional who is comfortable evaluating beta-like agent workflows and managing recording consent carefully.
Skip for now if: you need a mature shipping product, predictable long-term service economics, or only want reliable transcription. A conventional recorder—or one of Plaud’s established note devices—carries less uncertainty.
The catch
The current pre-order has ended and the waitlist is open. Plaud says 4G LTE access is included with the Limited Explorer Edition, but a future plan will be shared separately. The company also flags certain capabilities as dependent on future firmware, so the product you eventually receive may not map perfectly to today’s feature page.

Price, waitlist status, 4G LTE availability, recording limits and Explorer Edition caveats were checked against Plaud’s current product page. Plaud also reminds users to obtain consent before recording and comply with applicable privacy laws.
