reMarkable Paper Pro
A premium tablet whose strongest feature may be everything it refuses to become: no app-store carnival, no glowing laptop replacement, just a large color surface for thinking on.

Most premium tablets justify themselves by adding capability. reMarkable goes the other direction. Paper Pro is built around handwriting, reading, annotation and document work, with a custom operating system designed to make distraction harder rather than easier.
The hardware is serious enough to make that restraint interesting rather than quaint: an 11.8-inch color display at 2160 × 1620, an adjustable reading light, 64 GB of storage and a 5.1mm-thick body. reMarkable rates battery life at up to two weeks.
What we know
What does the premium buy?
The rational baseline is an iPad or laptop, both vastly more capable. Paper Pro's premium buys a large color paper-like surface, long battery life, handwriting-first interaction and deliberately reduced software distraction. It only creates value if doing less improves how you think and work.
Best for focused writing, reading and annotation
This is a rational premium when constraint is a feature rather than a deficiency. Buyers who need apps, media, communications or general computing should choose a conventional tablet.
The catch
The deliberate limitations are valuable only if they match the job. An iPad or laptop is vastly more capable for general computing, media, communications and applications.
