Snow Peak Takibi Fire & Grill

A pack-flat stainless fire pit and grill that makes premium camping gear feel more like durable equipment than lifestyle decoration.

Snow Peak Takibi Fire and Grill components

Takibi combines Snow Peak's Large Pack & Carry Fireplace with a base plate, grill bridge, grill net and carry bag. The system folds flat for transport, then becomes both a contained campfire and an adjustable cooking platform.

The materials are straightforward—stainless steel for the fireplace and grill, steel for the base plate—and Snow Peak backs the system with its lifetime guarantee. There are no electronics and almost nothing to become obsolete.

What does the premium buy?

A basic fire grate and portable grill solve the same jobs for far less. Takibi buys a modular stainless system that packs flat, combines fire and cooking cleanly and is built around replaceable, non-electronic parts.

The Row

Best for car-camping cooks

The premium is rational when the system gets used repeatedly for both fire and food. Backpackers and occasional campers should run from the 32-pound weight and spend elsewhere.

The Catch

Thirty-two pounds is substantial, and charcoal cooking requires an additional coal bed. The product is portable in the car-camping sense, not the carry-it-far sense.
