Solo Stove Bonfire 19.5" + Stand
A $300 stainless-steel fire pit that makes backyard fires cleaner and easier enough to justify the premium for frequent users.

The Bonfire earns attention because the feature set is not decorative. Solo Stove specifies a 19.5-inch diameter, 14.3-inch height, 23.3-pound stainless-steel body, removable ash pan and a stand that raises the hot fire pit above more heat-sensitive surfaces. The company also backs its fire pits with a lifetime warranty.
The “smokeless” label still needs context: the design uses secondary combustion and high airflow to reduce visible smoke once the fire is hot, not to repeal combustion. You still need dry fuel, startup smoke still exists, and sparks and heat still demand normal fire discipline.
What we know
What does the premium buy?
A conventional steel fire ring costs far less and still burns wood. The Bonfire premium buys lower visible smoke once hot, cleaner ash handling, portability, a finished stainless-steel body and long warranty coverage. Those gains matter most if backyard fires are a recurring ritual rather than an occasional event.
A rational premium for frequent use
Unlike many outdoor lifestyle upgrades, the extra spend buys specific functional improvements. Occasional users should save the money; frequent users have a coherent case for paying more.
The catch
It remains a 23-pound metal cylinder that consumes wood and creates heat, sparks and maintenance. Accessories can also turn a simple $300 purchase into a much more expensive ecosystem.
