Sonos Era 300
A speaker designed as much around where sound goes as how loud it gets.

Era 300 uses six Class-D amplifiers, four tweeters and two woofers arranged to project sound forward, sideways and upward. The point is spatial playback rather than a conventional forward-firing stereo box.
It supports Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and line-in through Sonos' adapter. It can also become part of a larger Sonos surround system.
What we know
What does the premium buy?
The rational baseline is a strong pair of conventional powered speakers. Era 300's premium buys spatial playback, room tuning, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/AirPlay flexibility and deep integration into a mature whole-home and home-theater ecosystem. If you do not value the ecosystem, more of the budget can go directly into stereo hardware.
Best when the Sonos ecosystem is part of the job
Era 300 is a coherent premium for buyers building a multi-room or spatial-audio system. As a standalone stereo-value purchase, conventional speakers can be more disciplined.
The catch
The strongest case is ecosystem value. If you do not want Sonos software, multi-room integration or spatial audio, conventional powered speakers can put more of the budget into straightforward stereo performance.
