Sonos Move 2
A portable speaker designed to behave like part of the house first—and leave the house second.

Move 2 is closer to a battery-powered room speaker than a conventional Bluetooth cylinder. Sonos lists up to 24 hours of playback, IP56 protection, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Automatic Trueplay, AirPlay 2, line-in support and a replaceable battery.
The evidence sheet
What does $499 buy that a $200 speaker does not?
Primarily home integration: Wi-Fi playback, Sonos multi-room, automatic tuning, charging base, line-in flexibility and a product designed to live in one room until it needs to move to another.
Best for a Sonos house
Move 2 is a strong premium if portability means kitchen-to-patio-to-garage inside an existing Sonos system. For true travel, JBL’s Charge-class speakers are lighter and economically cleaner.
The catch
At 6.61 pounds, “portable” is relative. Much of the premium depends on valuing Sonos software and ecosystem integration rather than simply wanting sound outdoors.

Pricing and specifications are Sonos-stated and may change. Row & Ledger has not physically compared sound quality or real-world battery endurance.
