Tonal 2
A black wall-mounted strength machine that replaces a room of plates and cable stacks with adaptive digital resistance, a camera and software.

Why it matters
The strongest comparison is not with a fully equipped gym but with the domestic cost of making strength training easy to begin. Tonal reduces setup, stores progression and removes loose equipment from the room. In exchange, it turns exercise hardware into an installed software service. The convenience is real; so is the dependence on membership, support and a fixed wall.
The evidence sheet
The gym disappears into the wall
Tonal's design value is spatial. Adjustable arms, digital weight and automatic progression compress a large strength setup into a relatively calm architectural object.
Best when space is the constraint
The premium is easier to defend in a home where a full rack, cable tower and plate storage would be materially worse.
The catch
Installation and a paid membership are part of the system. It is less flexible than free weights once the software relationship stops making sense.
