UNIMATIC U1-GMT-AEB
A monochrome GMT whose raised 24-hour bezel, debossed dial and wrinkled caseback make surface treatment part of the information system.

Why it matters
Black watches often sacrifice legibility in pursuit of mood. U1-GMT-AEB is more interesting because relief helps recover hierarchy: the raised scale can be read as a separate layer rather than another printed accent. That does not make it universally practical, but it shows decoration doing informational work—an unusually disciplined idea in a category crowded with superficial limited editions.
The evidence sheet
Texture with a job
The raised odd-number GMT scale is not decorative embossing. It gives the second time zone a physical layer while keeping the face almost completely black.
Tactility without noise
The best detail is one you notice twice: first as form, then as function.
The catch
The NH35A-based movement is pragmatic rather than exotic. The premium is for Italian design, execution and scarcity, not haute horology.
