Wacaco Picopresso
A 12-ounce manual espresso maker that treats travel coffee as a real extraction problem rather than a pod problem.

Picopresso is small enough to disappear into luggage but uses an 18-gram dose and 52mm basket—dimensions that make it much closer to conventional espresso workflow than most portable coffee gadgets. The user supplies finely ground coffee, hot water and manual pressure.
That last point matters: there is no heater and no capsule ecosystem. The device is compact because it refuses to duplicate the kettle and grinder.
What is actually here
What does the premium buy?
Instant coffee, AeroPress-style brewing or a pod machine are easier travel answers. Picopresso spends the money on compact espresso-specific mechanics for the person who cares about grind, dose and pressure even away from home.
Best for espresso-first travelers
If you already travel with a capable grinder and can source hot water, this is unusually coherent. If convenience is the priority, the ritual defeats the point.
The Catch
The device does not solve the hardest travel-espresso problems around it: fresh beans, proper grinding and hot water. Great results remain technique-dependent, so the small hardware footprint can disguise a larger workflow.
