Zieta PLOPP Standard
It looks soft, almost cartoonish. It is actually two welded sheets of steel inflated under pressure until the metal decides exactly how three-dimensional it wants to become.

PLOPP is Oskar Zięta's best-known expression of FiDU, a process that welds flat steel outlines and inflates them into structural volume. The resulting object is hollow, monomaterial and visibly imperfect in exactly the places conventional metalworking tries to erase.
The evidence sheet
The manufacturing method is visible
PLOPP works because the process and the appearance are inseparable. The bulges, seams and tiny asymmetries are evidence of how the object was made, not defects hidden under upholstery or trim.
Admire the process, then judge the object
It is one of the rare design objects that is both visually playful and materially rigorous. It also costs less than many far less memorable chairs.
The catch
Reflective and thermally colored finishes are visually dominant and can age irregularly. If the room already has too many statement objects, PLOPP quickly becomes one more voice competing to be heard.
