Bellroy Venture Sling 6L
A small day bag whose wide opening makes the contents easier to reach. For the city walk between leaving the suitcase and returning to it.

A suitcase gets you to the hotel. It does little for the six hours between dropping it off and returning. In that interval, a phone, sunglasses, charger and the things bought along the way can gradually turn every pocket into storage.
The Venture Sling 6L is a considered answer to that smaller carrying problem. The interesting detail is access: its zipper opens from either end, letting the mouth spread wide. Internal pockets then give small objects somewhere to go. At $139 in Black Baida Nylon on Bellroy’s US site, it asks you to value the organization as much as the bag.
The six-liter version
Exact 6L manufacturer listing. Photo and price concern the Black Baida Nylon version, not the larger 9L model.
Less searching inside the bag
The wide opening is the feature to consider first. If a small object repeatedly disappears beneath everything else, visibility can be more useful than another compartment. Bellroy combines that opening with a key clip, a soft-lined pouch and a gusset that compresses when the load shrinks.
Those details suit a fairly consistent collection of essentials. Before buying, put your usual day’s load together on a table. If it is only a phone and wallet, a six-liter bag may be a solution looking for a problem. If it includes a laptop or a substantial grocery run, start with a different carrying format.
The Catch
A single strap puts the whole load through one shoulder. Organization cannot make a heavy collection weigh less. A backpack deserves consideration when the contents are dense or the day involves long walks; use your own comfort to settle that choice.
Water resistance also should not be treated as waterproofing. We would protect vulnerable contents separately in sustained rain. And the listed volume does not establish that a particular bottle or camera will fit: shape, access and the other things sharing the space matter. Bring the awkward item to a fitting if possible.
A companion to the suitcase
We admire the attention paid to getting things out, not just putting them in. Consider this sling for a modest, frequently accessed travel kit: tickets at the station, sunglasses outside the museum, a charger at the café. The premium is easier to justify when that sequence happens often.
Keep your existing bag if it already handles the day without rummaging or discomfort. Choose the Venture because its opening and organization solve a repeated irritation, rather than because every trip needs another piece of luggage.
